Do you need a Twitter account to play?
You do not need a Twitter account in order to play the voting game. Just go to the homepage and start voting. However, those votes will be counted as anonymous votes and will not count towards the daily, weekly, or monthly votes. Once you log in using your Twitter account, your votes will be logged and you will have access to the hotties you voted for in your hotties page. Also once you log in, you will have access to more features, such as being able to display your Twit pic photos on your Hot Tweeters profile page.
Is Hot Tweeters Secure?
We take your privacy concerns very seriously. At Hot Tweeters, we use OAuth to verify your Twitter credentials and at no time do we store your Twitter password. OAuth is an authentication protocol that allows users to approve applications to act on their behalf without sharing their password. More information can be found on the OAuth website here. This is why you get redirected to the Twitter website when you login and then get sent back to Hot Tweeters.
What is Twitter?
Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to post their latest updates. An update is limited by 140 characters and can be posted through three methods: web form, text message, or instant message. Here's a great video that explains what Twitter is in plain english.
Who decides who is on the Hotties Lists?
The people on Twitter decide by their votes. Anybody with a Twitter account can play by voting for their hotties. If you have a Twitter user in mind who you want to vote as a hottie, just go to http://www.hottweeters.com/twitter_user_name where twitter_user_name is the person's Twitter profile name, and click on the vote button. You will have to be logged into Hot Tweeters to be able to vote on the person's Hot Tweeters profile page.
Who decides who is on the Recommended Profiles/Profiles You might like?
The recommended profiles is based on the current profile you are on. We use a proprietary computer algorithm to recommend a profile you might like if you think the current profile is "hot".
What's the difference between Votes Received and Votes Cast?
Votes received means how many people voted for you.
Votes cast means how many times you've voted for other people.
Views means how many people have viewed your profile page.
Is Hot Tweeters a SPAM bot?
Absolutely not. Hot Tweeters was created with harmless fun in mind. People on Twitter vote for other hot people on Twitter. When that happens, Hot Tweeters sends a Twitter @reply to the recipient of the Hot Vote to let them know somebody thought they were hot.
Can I vote for someone more than once?
In order to keep things fair and simple, you can only vote for someone once.
How do I get more votes?
Keep tweeting your followers for more votes. Ask them to retweet(RT) your vote requests. Tell all your friends.
How do I display my twitpic photos on my Hot Tweeters profile page?
You will need to login to the Hot Tweeters website using your Twitter account. Once you are logged in, click on the Settings link on the top right of the website. Check the "Show photos from my twitpic account", click on the "Save" button and we take care of the rest.
How do I get featured?
It's REALLY easy. All you have to do is tweet a message out on Twitter saying
Vote for me at http://www.hottweeters.com/your_twitter_usernameYou don't have to @reply or Direct Message Hot Tweeters. Just tweet it out to your friends and we'll feature you until the next person tweets out their message to vote for them. Your message can have other words as well as long as it contains the above message.
