Hot Tweeters Privacy
First and foremost, we do not store your Twitter password. We use OAuth Open Authentication (http://oauth.net/about), so you will never have your Twitter password collected by the Hot Tweeters application. Additionally, a representative from Hot Tweeters will never ask for your Twitter password for any reason.
Data Collection and Log Data
When you use Twitter, their servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website ("Log Data"). Twitter also uses cookies to manage and record data (mostly harmless) about users. This data is not available and is not used by the Hot Tweeters application or hottweeters.com. We use one (1) cookie to log whether or not you are of sufficient age to use the application. Simple, right? The only data that we log is the data with which you are providing to us as part of the Hot Tweeters application, i.e., your ratings. We log and store your ratings so that you can always have that for future reference.
Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement
The owners and operators of the Hot Tweeters application will cooperate with government and law enforcement officials or private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We may disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims, legal process (including subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of Hot Tweeters (or any service associated with Hot Tweeters), the safety of the public or any person, to prevent or stop any illegal, unethical, or legally actionable activity, or to comply with the law.
Security
We take the responsibility to safeguard your confidential information very seriously. To this end, we employ administrative, physical, and electronic measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access.
We will make any legally-required disclosures of any breach of the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your unencrypted electronically stored personal data to you via posting on the Hot Tweeters Site in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, consistent with the legitimate needs of law enforcement or any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of the data system. Because the Hot Tweeters application is reliant upon the Twitter service, we can make no guarantees for the level of security Twitter provides. In the event of a security breach at the Twitter level, we will also post information to the Hot Tweeters site in the same fashion as listed above.
Policy Regarding Children
The Hot Tweeters application is not directed to persons under 13 years of age. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personally identifiable information without their consent, he or she should contact us. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal identifiable Information, we will delete such information from our files.
